Description

Groote Schuur Mansions is a historic estate located on the slopes of Devil’s Peak in Cape Town, South Africa. Originally established in 1657 by the Dutch East India Company, the estate was known as a granary and has since evolved into a significant cultural and historical landmark. The estate gained prominence when it was acquired by Cecil Rhodes in the late 19th century, who commissioned architect Sir Herbert Baker to restore and expand the property, resulting in a unique blend of Cape Dutch and Victorian architectural styles.
